Asset management.
When your physical assets are managed effectively, you save time and money, reduce risk, and deliver great customer service. But it’s not always easy, particularly if your systems, processes and people aren't configured or equipped to communicate efficiently. ThoughtWeb helps you to better manage your physical assets to optimise performance, mitigate risks and reduce costs.
Featured Asset Management Solution
Opening up the lines of communication.
The Challenge
The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) acquires and maintains equipment and supplies for the Australian Navy. Inadequate information sharing between CASG and its clients was having a significant, negative impact on operations. Our partner, OGA, helped the group use a ThoughtWeb solution to address this problem.
The Solution
The Interdependent Mission Management System (IMMS) provides a collaborative environment within which equipment acquisition and maintenance is co-managed by CASG, its suppliers and the Navy. This includes managing risks and service levels through shared accountabilities, decision-making and obligations.
The Outcome
IMMS has helped build mutual trust between all parties, contributed to a ‘decision repository’ for mission management, improved understanding of shared issues and reduced lead times to treat risks. Operational ‘blind spots’ – information known to one organisation but not to others – have been minimised.
Featured Asset Management Solution
Context-based equipment scheduling and maintenance.
The Challenge
The organisation acquires and maintains high-performance equipment for a closely aligned network of large-scale users. Stakeholders rely heavily on regular maintenance reports that track the status of every equipment item. The previous reporting system used multiple spreadsheets, with little uniformity, process control or collaboration. Reports were late and inadequate, often causing delays in equipment availability.
The Solution
KoBold was engaged to develop an agile and collaborative reporting solution using the ThoughtWeb platform.
The new reporting system provides a web-based domain where all aspects of equipment maintenance are visible and all accountabilities clear. It delivers knowledge to each user group in the context of individual needs and priorities. It also highlights areas that need special attention well before they start impacting group performance.
The Outcome
The new system has introduced high levels of reliability and consistency into the supply and maintenance facility. It has reduced costs and delivery times, and streamlined processes and overheads.
